Our Journey to Bethlehem – Day 10 I Jesus Came to give us Hope of Life.

Jesus not only came to give us hope, but He, Himself is also our Hope. Jesus Christ is ‘our hope’(1 Tim. 1: 1), ‘the blessed hope’ (Titus 2: 13) and ‘in His name the nations will put their hope’ (Matt. 12: 21). Jesus is the hope of the world. He is the pathway, the door, to eternal life, and the way to our Father’s house. Christ is the pathway to Eternal life. The Incarnation, God becoming a man, is the very reason, why we have hope.
Without Jesus, we have no hope and only death to look forward to (1 Thess. 4: 13–14). But for those of us who are in Christ Jesus, we are no longer hopeless! Scripture says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3). This living hope is the hope and promise of eternal life (Titus 1: 2) through Jesus Christ. We have hope because Jesus came as a man, lived, died, and rose again.
The Way, the Truth, and the Life was in the manger, causing angels to rejoice, Mary to wonder, shepherds to worship, and us to have hope. The Incarnation shows that the hope of the universe is a person. Angels sang about the Hope. Hope lay in the manger. Hope caused Mary to wonder in her heart. The shepherds hurried to worship our hope. Hope was presented with gifts from the Magi who had travelled so far. Simeon and Anna wait eagerly to the Hope. The Advent story is a hope story because it chronicles the coming to earth of the One who is hope, Jesus.
