Our Journey to Bethlehem – Day 7 I Jesus Came so that mankind could have life to the full

God wants us to have a life of abundance. Jesus not only gives us the promise of eternal life in heaven, but He also gives us an abundant life here on earth. ………… I have come that they may have life and have it to the full (John 10: 10). The Christian way of life is the best way of life possible! Jesus said He came so that we “may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Jesus’ ransom sacrifice opened the way for humans to live forever in Paradise on earth. He comes to give, not to get. He comes that people may have life in Him that is meaningful, purposeful, joyful, and eternal. Jesus came so that we can have abundant life (Perissos – Greek) because He is the embodiment of life. He said, “I am the way and the truth and the life.

But His abundance has nothing to do with worldly pursuits and everything to do with those attributes that make us more like Him and that we can carry with us into heaven. Jesus wants us to have the best life possible, a complete life full of purpose, in a world that is sometimes unbearable – a world full of cruelty, injustice, sadness, and pain. ‘God’s way of living has great benefits for this life and offers ‘pleasures forevermore’ in the next You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16: 11).
