Our Journey to Bethlehem – Day 21 I Jesus came to Do the Will of Our Father
The Lord Jesus is God incarnate, is equal in glory, honour, majesty and power with the God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He set aside His heavenly glory and almighty power and only said and did those things that He heard from the Father. “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.” John 6: 38
“Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’” Hebrews 10: 7 “I can do nothing on My own initiative As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. Jesus Christ is our greatest example of humility. He humbled Himself and taught us to do His Father’s will.
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Ps. 143: 10. “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Let Thy will be done.
