Our Journey to Bethlehem – Day 8 I Jesus Came to Reveal God’s Glory

Published by Jacob P Varghese on

Isaiah 43: 7 says ‘that God created us for His glory’. The Glory of God emanates from His character and His Attributes. The heavenly Father wrapped up all of His character in the Son “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1: 14).  The Word, the Son, became human without ceasing to be God. Jesus revealed the glorious destiny God has promised to His people. The indwelling presence of the Spirit of God gives us a foretaste of that future glory here and now. The Spirit is “a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance” (Ephesians 1: 14).

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature and upholds all thingsby the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high… (Heb. 1: 3). For when He received honour and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased”— (2 Peter 1: 17) ….. it is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” (1 John 4: 9).

God created us for His glory (Is. 43: 7). We are the vessels that should contain and emit His glory. When we sin, we exchange the Glory of God in favor of the “glory of man.” The concept of glorifying God is that of honoring God, with our life.  Let us honor the Lord in all what we do, whether it be eat or drink or whatever we do, do it all for the Glory of God (1 Cor. 10: 31). To glorify God requires full commitment to Him. Glorifying God in everything means we honor Him in our thoughts, words and actions. When a faithful dies, he will be taken into God’s presence, and in His presence will be naturally surrounded by God’s glory.
