Experience the Life-Giving Holy Spirit in the Upper Room – Come Holy Spirit, Come!

Published by Jacob P Varghese on

‘…those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God’ — Rom. 8: 14

Without the Holy Spirit we have no life in us, with the Holy Spirit we have the life of Jesus.

Without the Holy Spirit we return to the Upper Room in fear and anxiety but with the Holy Spirit we leave the Upper Room and witness to Jesus to the ends of the earth.

The Holy Spirit is our source of power here on earth (Acts 1:8).

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth” In our strength, trying to live our lives in our own ability and might, we are helpless and powerless, like a branch cut off from the vine tree, but God gives us the ability empowered by Him, strength stretched by Him. Use the God-given power to

  • Serve the Lord.
  • To witness for the Lord.
  • To have fruit in our lives
  • To overcome the devil and his works.

The Holy Spirit fully God!

He lives within us to carry out our Triune God’s divine purposes!!

The Holy Spirit is God’s seal on us!!!

The Holy Spirit lives in us and His presence in us means we are God’s temple. He works to transform us to be more like Christ.

The Holy Spirit helps us produce the virtues of Christ — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self-control, and faithfulness. He intercedes for us when we pray, communicates the groanings of our heart when we don’t have words, and fills us with power when we worship. In addition, the Spirit is our assurance that we are God’s children. We are his. His future, his blessings, and his grace are ours. Holy Spirit is the One who is poured out upon you like a healing balm – to sooth, to calm, and to comfort. He is the One who renews your strength, reviews your spirit, refills your cup, restores your strength, and refreshes your spirit.

Let us pray today for ourselves and the entire Church, that we may all be renewed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let us ask Him to guide us into all truth and to help us grow in Close companionship with Christ through daily prayer, reading of the Holy Scriptures and partaking of the Holy Sacraments.
